Logic board swapping 4, 8, 16 GB

Is it possible to replace iPhone's original logic board with a new logic board with different capacity? Say from original 4 GB to 8 GB or 16 GB?

Yes, as you see here there are different logic boards for different capacities, and it says they each work in all 1st gen iPhones

Just an addition: make sure the 8 or 16 GB boards are for 1st gen iPhones (which is represented by your link). 2nd or 3rd gen iPhone boards aren't compatible with 1st gen.

Yes, that's important, you can only buy within your gen.
