GE Microwave JE1860SH03 has no power or display

Mo microwave shows no sign of having power. I verified there is power at the receptacle, but the unit won’t do anything. What do you suggest I do?

Hi @spartan_d ,

First thing to check would be the fuse - part #4010 - Interior parts to make sure that it is OK.

If it has blown then there is always a reason why a fuse blows. If this is the case, further testing is required to find out why, otherwise you can replace it only to find that it will blow again if the fault hasn’t been found.

If it hasn’t blown then again further testing will be required to find out what the problem is. There can be a lot of reasons for a no power problem, e.g. faulty connections, burnt out components etc.

Safety Note:

The HV capacitor in a microwave oven can store >6000V DC for months even if the oven has been disconnected from the power for this length of time. This voltage can seriously injure you if you don’t know what you’re doing. Once the cover has been removed from the oven, the HV capacitor needs to be correctly discharged before commencing any work inside the oven. If you don’t know what you’re doing then don’t do it! Call a reputable, professional appliance repair service and ask for a quote.
