Is iPhone 7 lightning connector compatible with the iPhone 7 Plus?

My iPhone 7 Plus was exposed to water. Phone kept working fine after that but at one point wouldn’t charge. Thought it was a faulty battery, replaced it, phone turned on again but wouldn’t charge. Suspecting its a faulty lightning connector, I ordered an iPhone 7 lightning connector. Well seems the iPhone 7 plus lightning connector is a bit larger.

I did manage to connect the connector to the phones mainboard/battery, but still wont charge.

So my question is: is the iPhone 7 lightning connector technically compatible with the 7 Plus? As in, should it charge the battery when connected to the mainboard? Because if it is, the battery should have charged, right?

Answer this question I have this problem too

D

No the parts are not interchangeable but it may have a problem with the tristar ic which controls charging and data transfer. The problem with a water damaged phone is you could be chasing the problems. You will most likely need microsoldering skills and equipment. You need to take the motherboard out and look for corrosion, check under the covers. The iPhone 7 is not worth repairing especially with water damage. Most shops won't work on water damaged phones except for data recovery.
