My display isn’t working

Recently I bought a screen replacement for my iPhone 7 , I had all the tools needed. When I got the package, I started to watch videos on how to replace a shattered iPhone 7 screen. Before I started , in the video it said to turn the device off. Which I wasn’t able to do since my screen is completely shattered. I then didn’t turn off the device , and started doing all the other stuff told in the video. I carefully watched the whole video & did it perfectly. But when I tried to turn on the phone. Nothing happened, the display was completely off. But when I put a sim in it. And tried calling from another phone. The speakers worked , as well as the haptic engine worked. I watched videos on “what to do when your display downstairs work”. I tried all of those but nothing worked. Please I want a solution for how to turn on my display. THANK YOU

Before you remove the screen again check that it is not the backlight that isn’t working by shining a torch on the screen and see if you can see an image. If you cannot see an image lift the screen and make sure the connectors are seated properly. If they are seated properly you may have purchased a faulty screen.

If you can see an image by shinning a torch on the screen you may have a backlight problem which will more than likely have nothing to do with the screen and instead a logic board problem that would need to be addressed by a reputable repairer.

We repair shops deal with devices that can’t be turned off before attempting repairs. Did you make sure you disconnected the battery before the screen? If you don’t disconnect the battery, you can blow the back light circuit. Follow the steps mentioned by @imicrosoldering above. And where did you buy the repair kit from?
