Can we use MB CoreDuo's keyboard cable replace for MB Core2Duo's one?

Hi,

I need your help! ^^

I have a Macbook Core2Duo T7400 (2.16Ghz). Because of my keyboard functions does not work properly (some keys were dead) so that I have to replace its whole upper case. I found a upper case of Macbook coreduo (2.0Ghz) working fine but without their own keyboard cable.

Macbook CoreDuo's Keyboard Cable looks like this (Brown color):

My original Macbook Core2Duo's Keyboard Cable look like this (Silver color):

I replaced it already, using my keyboard cable (belongs to my Macbook Core2Duo - silver one) then everything work fine (keys all work properly, trackpad, trackpad's button works good). But sometime when my Macbook Core2Duo getting hot, the trackpad's button stop working (can NOT click/ double click). After that all functions keep working like a charm!

What should I do now? I'm in Vietnam and very hard to find a Macbook CoreDuo's keyboard cable (brown color)!

Thanks in advance for all of your ideas! ^^

Sounds to me like your problem is with overheating, not the cable. Your machine (the T7400) appears to be this one:

Apple MacBook "Core 2 Duo" 2.16 13" (White) Specs

Identifiers: Mid-2007 - MB062LL/A - MacBook2,1 - A1181 - 2139

I would blow out the fans, clean out the vents and replace my thermal paste and see if this solves the problem. Here's how to get to the heat sink: MacBook Core Duo Heat Sink Replacement

I use Arctic 5 thermal paste.

Thanks for your fast answer,

But I've replaced my thermal pasted some months ago (using Arctic 5, also), my Macbook's temperature is quite low, now. I'm not sure overheating is the problem. (The old original upper case with the trackpad button is working perfect, never met the problem like this)

I'm wonder, can the cable caused that issue? if the problem is the compatible, why it only happens after a few hours using the Macbook? +_+
