Hi, We need some more information to help you.Which MBP do you have? What are the last three numbers of the serial number? What drive did you install and what color light on the power cable? Why did you replace the drive?

It sounds to me like your unit is not getting a power on signal. The most common problem with this when a computer has been worked on the the cable that connects from the top-case to the logic board. See step #10 on this guide: MacBook Pro 15" Core Duo Model A1150 Upper Case Cable Replacement

this could be my problem. The original video I watched talked about prying it up and maybe I separated the "plug" from the board. I'm not really sure as I can't tell from the photos what it's suppose to look like. Should I have seen pins on the bottom of the cable? Did it "plug" into the board or just come in contact?

by

It's to hard to explain what kind of plug it is ( a rectangle socket) , just push it down with your thumb. If you leaned the keyboard up against the screen it probably pulled on the backside of this plug and lifted it out. It probably has some kapton tape helping to hold it in place.

I may have pulled the whole plug assembly off the motherboard. I only pulled at the yellow tape but maybe due to age the solder separated. Now what do I do?
