I am looking for a replacement battery for a MacBook Pro, 15“ Touchbar 2018 A1990 (EMC 3215) 2.9GHz. iFixit has a how-to guide on their platform but do not offer the battery, which is kind of weird. Can you help me locate it or tell me when it will becoming available? Thanks, Dirk

Not so weird! iFixit makes the guides when they take the systems apart for the teardown they produce which is done at day the system is made available!
Don’t forget the battery has a warranty! Determine battery cycle count for Mac notebooks so the need is not there yet! To add to this, the availability of the battery may not be possible as new! Which is also the case here as well. Maybe you should visit an Apple Store to get it replaced under warranty.

I have this same computer. I was stored for a year, cracked my screen could not afford to replace it. I did a month ago, thanks to the help of Ifixit. But I found out later that I should have kept the battery charged during that storage. Now my battery is showing fully charged but says "Replace Now" and the laptop dies with disconnected from power. Now I have to replace the battery even though it only has 108 Cycle Count. I bought an open box battery today, will try and replace it myself. Any thoughts?

Just like Dirk you should visit an Apple Store as the battery has a warranty! Otherwise its a bit of a task! And you can't get new ones yet.

I got that battery I ordered. I put it in and it booted fine, charged fine, worked without the charger, fine. Condition showed normal in battery icon. Later that evening while using MBP, with plug, it just shut down. When I turned it back on it said, "Replace Battery now". And it won't stay on without the plug. Do you think I got a bad battery?
