Water sensor alert wont go away when triggered

Ever since i dropped the phone in a puddle of salt water at the beach the water sensor alert comes up and is almost impossible to go away, i was on 2% and desprate to charge it, the only way i could bypass it was to reboot the phone and plug it in while it was starting up, but the phone is kinda glitchy when i do that, and now almost everytime the phone gets even a little bit wet it triggers the water sensor and i have to reboot the phone and plug it in while booting to trick the system and be able to charge my phone, this is getting annoying, how do i fix this?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Luckily that phone is IP68 dust and water resistant. Salt water can be highly corrosive and probably caused corrosion in the port, causing a short circuit which results in that message and stopping the phone from charging. You can use a toothbrush and some compressed air to clean it out. If you have something like a pipette you can use that to drop a little rubbing alcohol in there to help clean it. Just be sure to power the phone off when you do so.
