Vertical and horizontal lines on the screen after a drop

Some days ago, I dropped my iPhone 6S. It wasn't a high drop (less than a meter/less than three feet), but the screen got destroyed: the glass is slightly cracked on the top, the left part of the screen is almost completely black, and there are lines all over the screen. The screen also looks very pixeled.

The horizontal lines are only on the top of the screen, the vertical ones change position depending on what’s displayed. The touch screen responds without any problem on every part.

I tried to disconnect and reconnect the display, but the lines are still there. I was wondering if it’s just the screen or the logic board got damaged too. Inside there’s no visible damage.

Has anyone ever had a problem like this?

This is a common issue that is fixed by replacing the screen. You damaged the LCD which is responsible for the images on the display. You can order them from ifixi.com and do this repair yourself or take it to a local repair shop if you want professional installation. We typically prefer using our own parts as we can typically put a warranty on them that covers defects. Good luck!
