Why is part of my Touch Bar black?

I recently noticed that part of my Touch Bar is black. It is still responsive but I can not see the end on the right side by the power button.

I have tried restarting it and closing it from the activity monitor and the terminal.

The Touch Bar is an OLED panel and when a line fails the image won’t be illuminated for that section.

Do you still have warranty coverage or have AppleCare+ Support contract? If you do this should be a free repair.

If you don’t, do you have any keyboard keys which are sticking or not working properly? If you do focus on getting them fixed as Apple has an extended warranty program for the keyboard. Don’t focus on the Touch Bar focus on the keys. Then see what happens!
