MagSafe connector tilting down when connected

Hi,

I just bought this MacBook used and when I connect the MagSafe to the port, it tilts downward. I can still charge the computer if I leave the charger tilted or it’ll charge when flushed to the port but only for a few minutes. I’m trying to think of an easy way of fixing this issue short of replacing the board because they’re hard to come by. If I need to replace the board I will, I also want to be sure that will fix the issue.

The last time I saw this there was part of a broken staple in the port. These things get magnetized and will pick up small metal things like screws.
