2018 MacBook Air easy pull adhesive

So, I’ve got a situation with a sticky keyboard. I spilt some syrup on the keyboard and immediately took some isopropyl to the keys. However, even after that, some of them are still sticking!

My thought is to go in and pull everything out, then take a swab to the keyboard and put it all back together again.

I have plenty of experience pulling apart MacBook Pros, but when looking at the teardown guide for this Air model, I notice many components have an easy pull self-adhesive on them.

My question is one, when I pull the adhesive tabs to remove the component, do they lose their adhesive ability and can’t get stuck back on? Or two, can I buy the adhesive somewhere?

I noticed in the iFixIt store for this model, all the components they sell already come with the adhesive on it. If I’m not able to re-adhere the component using the existing pull tab adhesive, or able to purchase those pull tab adhesives separately, is there another option?

Thanks in advance guys!

No, the pull-tapes is one time use.

I use this product 3M Double Coated Stretch Release Tape 6657-150

I peel back the carrier and use a strip of regular tape to create a pull tab

That's great, but you didn't post a source for purchase. That would be quite helpful.

@parts - contact 3M for a local distributer.

Any adhesive replacement would work honestly and they only things that have adhesive is the speakers and battery

You will have to do a whole topcase/keyboard replacement
