My hardrive is clicking will plugging in a 2T hardrive will it stop?

My hardrive is clickin on my pc makes my games not load correctly and really slow would plugging in another hardrive stop it from clicking or do i need to replace it

@tommygofficial … heya, so clicking, grinding, slow performance and corrupt files are all signs of hdd malfunction. i would not continue to use this drive if you are gonna want to salvage any data off of it. that being said, i would go ahead and look into gathering your data, most important first, on another storage device in case it fails while doing so. to be sure it is a failing disk with minimal stress as possible, you could do a smart disk check in your recovery menu by pressing f8 while booting up windows. here is a guide that may help:

Oh okay so pretty much i have to buy a new hardrive soon? Or can i use my external drive as the hardrive?

The clicking is the search head going back and forth, This is indicative of a failing/failed hard drive. Plug in an external drive and see if you can recover any of your data.

No worries umm so do i have to buy a new hardrive for it or can i use an external one or not

Sure you can use an external drive but your speed will be slowed. Consider upgrading to an SSD drive.
