What is this part used for?

in this IFixit kit: iMac Intel 21.5" (Late 2012-2019) SSD Upgrade Kit

what is the usb 2.0 cable for? I don’t recall seeing any internal usb port in my Imac last time I opened it, to remove the HDD. Currently running from an external ssd, but am considering putting in an internal ssd for the speed bit.
