System in SSD / Filles in HD

I now have a 240 GB SSD Drive inside my mid 2011 - 2.5 Mhz i5 16Gb iMac (High Sierra) as the primary drive and also a 2TB HD inside as the 2nd drive. THS SSD is full and I need to transfer the libraries and project folders to the HD - mostly photos, vídeos and audio files - so the system can run with enough work memory. Is It possible? How do I do it? Thanks a lot - Militao Ricardo - Brazil.

So you can see both drives on your desktop? If you can all you’ll need to do is create a folder on the HDD to then drag copy the files from your SSD over. Once there and you have checked they are OK then you can erase the SSD files.

Now the tricky part! Only move things that are not location based application files. So as an example the libraries files can’t be moved for most apps. Some apps have settings which you can alter so scratch space can be set to a different volume. Some apps allow links which can point to a different volume. You’ll need to research which apps offer this. In any case your photos, bought music and vids files (iTunes) all can be moved.

Thanks a lot. Very helpful answer! I really needed to open space in the SSD drive in order to keep working on some iMovie videos. I switched the iMovie scratch folder to the internal HDD and now it's working fine.
