Safari can’t find the server

I recently found an iBook G4 and I put an Airport Card in it to connect to my home wifi. On the Network section there is a green dot next to AirPort. The Mac OS X is 10.3.9. Do I need to upgrade to Leopard before Safari will work? Or what else do I need to do?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Will it connect via an ethernet cable?

Yes I can via an ethernet cable but only some sites come up. When sites to come up they aren't complete and no pictures.

You need to use a browser other than Safari. Most web servers these days use secure connections (https) which may be too advanced for Safari to comprehend. If you can upgrade to 10.4 then I’d recommend TenFourFox, otherwise look towards iCab (v4.9 is the latest that’ll run on 10.3).

Can I upgrade to 10.5 then download another Web browser?

Yes. I'd still recommend TenFourFox in that case. Be aware that there are different builds of TenFourFox depending on your processor, so be sure to download the correct version for your machine.
