Webcam not working, green LED blinking

Hi there,

I replaced the LCD assembly on my 12” Macbook 2017. Everything works great except the internal webcam. When I start the app Photo Booth (or FaceTime), the green LED light near by the webcam starts to blink, on the screen I can see only a black window. In the system report it looks like the FaceTime Camera is installed/recognized normally.

I already tried all this steps to get fixed the issue:

  1. NVRAM + SMC reset
  2. Terminal: sudo killall VDCAssistant & sudo killall AppleCameraAssistant
  3. Booted from external drive into a different MacOs
  4. Replaced the LVDS cable
  5. Another LCD assembly

None of this steps was helpful. The Apple Hardware Test (AHT) showed no errors.

Does anybody have an idea how the problem with the webcam could be solved?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

There is really no one who could help with that? Does maybe anyone know which cable is responsible to make the camera work?
