Why does it not go into the spin cycle
How to tell if it’s the timer because it does not spin

If the washer won't spin or agitate, check the drive belt. If the belt is broken or if it isn't tight on the pulleys the washer won't spin or agitate properly. If the washer won't spin the lid switch assembly might be defective. ... If the washer won't spin or agitate the stator assembly might be burned out.
With a model number I can be more specific.

What is your particular model? What does the washer do instead of going into the spin cycle (e.g. does it stay in a wash cycle, does it do nothing, does it make any noises, does the timer still advance or stop, etc.)? If it is a mechanical timer, have you tried manually advancing it to the spin cycle?
