Why is there a circle next to my home button?

There is a circle next to my home put. That seems to be edged in. I wondering if this will be a tip to a company not to accept the phone.

Someone put a long screw in the short hole which cuts through the paint finish and luckily did not crack the screen as a result of doing so.

The home button bracket that covers the back of the home button assembly has 4 tri-wing screws that hold it in. Check out step 19 of this guide to see what I mean:

@andrewjsolano So? He is answering what you asked. It's the original owner installed the wrong screw and broke the black paint underneath.

Yeah the outer screen will have that circle when the inner screw pierce through the screen from the inside. I agree with ben. Long screw has been used instead of the original screw to hold down the home button.
