Home unresponsive, send help

i took my ds in to have the shell replaced a few years back, and when they gave it back to me the home button was not working anymore; i took it back to them and was told they would call me when its done. fast forward 2 months and they hadnt done anything with it n basically told me i was s.o.l. i have a feeling something is just loose or not connected correctly. Links or suggestions would be helpful, warranty voided as i took it to a non-nintendo affiliate repair source.

Hi!

The home button is soldered on the motherboard… If you have experience with soldering, you can do this by yourself.

Follow this guide:

New Nintendo 3DS XL 2015 Motherboard Replacement

And then desolder the home button and solder the new home button in.

Happy to hear that your question has been answered! Perhaps there is a local repair store available near you who is experienced with soldering. Otherwise, you could replace the motherboard, but this will be more expensive.
