can i install my 27 inch iMac 2011 installation disk to my friends iMac g5

The gray disks are all machine series specific and will not load onto other machines. The disk for your 27" iMac will probably work on the 21" 2011 but nothing else. Beside a G5 processor can only be taken as high as 10.5.8. Anything higher requires an Intel processor.

no the new MacOS requires a intel processor and will unlikey work on the g5
