Vertical bars on screen

I have the same issue on the last version of the 17inch mbp is it fixable on that version? Or same all broke needs chucking out?

Vertical lines seen on a computer screen may be a result of hardware failure, which requires a hard reset (or forced reset), or an issue with your video (graphics) card. In most cases, these lines are caused by damage to the screen lite blue

@david236 - True! Its likely a hardware issue. But it can be the GPU instead of the the display. We also have a few cards up our sleeve to over come some issues! But I need to get a better idea what the OP is seeing as that will give me a clue on what's needed.

OK, I see the faint vertical lines which are equally spaced (more visible in the top right in you pic) This looks like a noise issue within the internal displays LVDS connections.

Let’s do one more test to make sure. Connect your system to an external monitor do you see the lines on it as well?
