Blank Screen both External and On-board after apple update

I was given a Macbook Pro from a friend which had a cracked screen, that was not used for a while. I replaced the screen and I was starting up and working fine, installed logmein and ran apple updates... after the update the screen stopped working no back-light no picture and doesn't detect external monitor, It still starts up and I have full access through logmein but cannot find anyway to get the monitor to work.

I'm not familiar with logmein but that appears to be the problem. If it was running before you started the software change I would bet it's a software problem. If you do not have an installation disk consider buying a 10.6 full installation disk. I don't know if 10.7 will be release on disk yet. Either one is only $29. You can reformat the drive and install a system. You can also go the Target Mode route. Borrow another Intel processor Mac. Hook them together with a firewire cable. Start your machine up holding down the "T" key. Your hard drives icon should show up on the other machine. You can now try running Disk Utilities to repair your drive or use something like SuperDuper to clone the working system from the other Mac to your hard drive. http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDuper/S...
