It could be one of three things:
Wifi connectivity on the device, check that if it is either ethernet (by cable into your router) or if your wifi connection (without a cable) is on and working.
Your router is having problems connecting back to your wifi service provider. This means that it cannot talk to the servers there.
(This is the least likely one, but it could still happen.) Your wifi card has either gone bad, or one of the connections isn’t solid, meaning in that you won’t get good service, or even sometimes no service at all.
