Salt Water Damage Question

Went swimming with my phone in ocean.. first thing did was wash completely ouside in water and put in rice for 3 weeks.

After 3 weeks passed, put in new battery and tried to turn on. Here are results:

phone turns on but display is not lighting up (can see everything with strong flashlight). can connect to iTunes (synced) and everything seems to be there (apps, etc...). I did not get a battery from iFixIt, but from some cheap place for $4 bucks. Phone will not charge just stays at 3%, but with charger is good.

Question:

is my display affected by cheap battery? Do i need new display or or any other parts?

Thank you for help!!!

Leo, first I would clean the device using this guide. Check all your connectors very well and make absolutely certain that they are clean. Since you can see the the screen but It does not light up, I would suggest to either change the LCD and/or the Logic board IC needs to be replaced. The IC is available on places like ebay etc and is not that expensive. Now to repair it might b tricky unless you do know how to older. If not try your local TV repair shop or similar places. Hope this helps, good luck

does the LCD have the logic board IC on it?

No Leo, the IC is on the phones logic board. The LCD connects to it via ribbon cables. It is basically the brain of your phone....
