Broke cushion and latch on LVDS cable.

I broke the cushion substance on the lvds cable and the metal part that latches it. The actual connector is inserted, but my whole keyboard doesn't work now. At first it was just part of the keyboard, but now it won't even turn on and no keys worked last time. How screwed am I? Do I have to order a new LVDS cable and replace it?

My first guess was the keyboard cable, but it's already attached. I tried to feed it in more to see if it wasn't all the way in to no avail.

Edit- so the computer turns on when plugged into charger which means the power button worked. However, once the laptop is on, nothing on the laptop works except the track pad. I can't even turn it back off using the power button.

Edit- it was just the keyboard cable that wasn't all the way in. That thing is annoying. I got my laptop to work again. Should I be worried about those LVDS cable parts?

Just to say it would be better if the latches were there to prevent the cable moving
