Phone no longer vibrates after being repaired

hello, I been having a frustrating time with a customer’s iphone7+.

Customer came for a back housing replacement.

I’ve replaced the back housing however the phone does not vibrate anymore.

the home button does not click however does have touch id.

service carrier works, charging works, phone camera front & back works.

so far i’ve replaced the charger port (twice), the power button & volume button flex cable(twice), factory reset, Taptic Engine(twice).

by twice I mean, using a different part each time.

I have not switch the motherboard to a different housing(i don’t see how this will affect it) but will do soon.

The only available ideas that I have is board repair:

I believe the vibrator driver IC U3502 has gone bad.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi @darkstaride1

I have had problems like this with the iPhone 7 and 8 charging port replacements. You should check the charging port connector on the logic board for physical damage, then ensure that the alignment is perfect so all the pins make a solid connection.

The best way to ensure the connector alignment is to connect the cable to the logic board, wrap it around underneath the board and tape it against the bottom side. Once you’ve done this, you can put the logic board into the iPhone frame and stick the charging port down where it needs to be to preserve the alignment. After that, you can continue to install the charging port as normal.

Hopefully that will resolve your problem
