Screen malfunctioning after battery replacement

Phone was working fine except the battery drain was high. Followed directions and replaced the battery. Now there are vertical lines on the screen and it’s not responsive to touch. Any suggestions?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Suspect improper flex cable seating(s) especially the digitizer (touch) flex cable. Maybe review your reassembling procedure to make sure you didn't miss anything.

Hi, I have personally replaced my own iPhone 5S battery and from the sounds of what you are experiencing, there could be two problems. The first is when you re-attached the ribbon cables for the screen that you didn’t seat the cables into position properly, if this is the case, then you may have to open your phone again to check the cables. The second thing that may have happened is screen damage. To much pressure on the screen when the phone is open can cause damage to the display. If the screen is warped or bumpy then it is most likely a broken screen. Any more details and I will be willing to assist.
