Battery Replacement Failed - battery shows 78% and Replace now. I tried resetting PRAM, SMC, everything. Battery will NOT charge. Followed your instructions to the letter. The only problem I encountered was I had two phillips head screws, but because you did not include a phillips head screw for your kit, I was screwed. I eventually got it fixed, but the battery is defective.

Well, iFixit can't help you with your purchase if it wasn't their battery. You'll need to talk with Amazon seller. Its possible someone is reselling the iFixit kit
As far as the screws if you are talking about the ones seen in Step 34 here MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display Late 2013 Battery Replacement. These are T5 Torx screws I’ve never seen Apple use Phillips screws here. I've done my fair share of battery replacements and I've never seen anything else used. If someone worked on your system before I suppose someone might have switched out the screws.
Again you can waste time here or you can get your new battery contacting the store directly and get it shipped today! Click on the Blue URL link I originally posted there you'll find the need information to contact them.

Dan: I tried your "Blue URL" link and it went to file not found. I did call the store, but no one answered and I left a message. But what makes this urgent for me is that I'M DOWN and I have work to do. I guess I should not have trusted iFixit, but I really thought your reputation was trustworthy. My bad......

@meagan margaret thomas Why are you being so rude to someone who dedicates their time (FOR FREE) to help users with their issues? Dan doesn't work for iFixit and took time out of his day to help you with your issue even though you were incredibly rude to him from the start. I understand you're angry and have work to do, but Dan works too, took time out of his work to help you, and doesn't deserve your misplaced frustration. Thanks Dan for your excellent input, as always.

Meagan So sorry to hear your plight! Please contact the iFixit Store to get a warranty replacement battery.
Can you tell me which screws you encountered that where Phillips in your system.

They were phillips head and they attach to the battery up by where the connection (for data) is. They were NOT pentalon or other types. They were phillips head and that caused me sheer !&&* trying to get them back installed once the replacement battery was installed. All that work for nothing!!!

And who compensates me for three wasted hours of my time????????????????? Just so you know, I purchased on Amazon, but YOU (meaning ifixit) was the vendor. RIGHT NOW, I'M DOWN. And I don't like that!
