The iPhone 4 phone overheats then shuts down

I have replaced the battery and cleaned all components with Isopropyl Alcohol.

the phone works great now for about 1 hour then gets extremely hot and shuts down. will not charge again for a few days.

I think I should be looking for a blown circuit but not sure where.

You sure that's an iPhone? Sounds like a problem a lot of Droids have (mine included)

That sounds to me like a short in your power circuit somewhere. If you have an electrical meter handy you can try testing the resistance across the battery contacts. If something is shorted you'll most likely see <1 ohm impedance. It would make it easier if you have a working phone to compare readings to.

Was there any water damage or severe fall damage?
