MBA replaced battery short battery life + low % design capacity
I replaced my 2014 MBA’s (OSX Mojave 10.14.5) battery with the ifixit kit and followed the instructions for calibrating it. I never felt like it lasted as long as a new battery should, but particularly after less than 2 months, the new battery is as bad as the one it replaced. It discharges from 100% to shutting down (under 5%) usually within an hour. I’ve tried calibrating again, but each time I do, it only seems to get worse.
The battery icon tells me “Service Battery” and the CoconutBattery gives me the following worrying information:
Is there a reason why the battery would only be getting about 1/5th its design capacity after light use over a month and a half? Do you think it’s just a bad battery or is it an OSX problem?
Is this a good question?

Update: I also ran Quicktime to record my screen and it rapidly decreased from 90-something to 70 in about 15 minutes. Then, less than 16 minutes into battery power, it jumped down to 6%. It wasn't even an incremental drop, it literally went from 70% to 6% in a blink of the eye.
