So sad to see the repair-ability go down from a 8 in the G5 to a 4 in the G7
I honestly thought this repair was super linear and easy to accomplish! - but maybe more parts have become widely available for the G7 since iFixit gave out their repairability score. For anyone viewing and still interested, the G7 and G8 parts are widely available on websites such as ebay and gadgetfix now for really solid prices and both of these devices have great specs with more than enough capability for the average user. Just finished building my Rose G7 for around $100 and I love it!

the main issue is the permanent adhesive battery, but once you get it off its no longer an issue as you can finally replace the overly strong adhesive with something easy
