Which one is the best cpu to upgrade to?

I’ve heard about the issues with the i7-4790k as it’s maximum TDP is 88W but the logicboard only supplies 84W, so I’m asking if there is a cpu which has not been sold by Apple or if I should stick with a i7-4771 for whatever reasons you might supply.

Edit 1: Is it possible to flash the iMac’s SMBIOS to a late 2014 one to use a i7-4790K „natively“?

I answered this question here:

What CPU can I upgrade to?

We know the Intel® Core™ i7-4771 Processor works.

Officially, Apple provides no information about whether or not the processor in this model can be upgraded and the company does not intend for one to upgrade the processor either. However, the processor is mounted on a LGA 1150 socket and can be physically upgraded with another compatible processor with a maximum TDP of 84 W or less.

So it you say I’d go for a i7-4771 except if I want to risk up to 200$ for a cpu we don’t know if it will work with apples software?
