How to replace Bluetooth antenna?

Can anyone tell me how to replace the Bluetooth antenna on a 15” 2012 Macbook Pro A1286? It is part # 056-3517 REV B.

I accidentally severed the wire when taking out the optical drive, and now I’m unable to use Bluetooth.

I have found the part online, but I have combed the internet on how to remove the old unit and put in the new one. Nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update (07/01/2019)

Just to clarify, it is the actual Bluetooth antenna, that sits just under the opening to the DVD drive, next to the "right" speaker.

The part # is definitely 056-3517 REV B. I am looking right at it, and reading the part #. When I google it, it says it is for 2011, But, I’m assuming they just used it in the 2012 as well. In all the teardown guides and videos, I see it just left attached. It must be able to be uninstalled and reinstalled, though. When looking at the open back of the MacBook, it is in the top lefthand corner.

It may possibly be glued in?

So, I received the part and successfully installed it. It is part # 056-3517 REV B. It is glued in to the bottom of the case, under the “right” speaker, and part of the unit rests just under the opening to the CD drive. I used a heat gun to remove the defective unit. installed the antenna, which is a bracket and wire. Please see images.

I was wondering exactly where the Bluetooth antenna was located so as to get optimum signal from my MBP to my AirPods Pro, which seem to drop out while watching a movie on Prime or Netflix whenever I move about fun my chair. So, looking at this, I was able tom determine that it is in the upper right of the keyboard-half of the computer as looking with it while screen-half is opened, just under the right side of the optical drive bay. Thank you!

Now if someone could tell me where the infrared sensor on my mid-2012 13" non-retina, I'd be forever grateful!

The correct part number for the Bluetooth antenna is 922-7301. The number you are posting is the number the maker of the part put on.

In any case that’s the correct part and it does indeed get glued onto the upper case it has a strip of double stick tape on it.
