Washer agitates then stops. Will not finish cycle

Kenmore model 11020902991 stops after agitates. I bypassed lid switch and washer works flawlessly. So is it safe to assume the lid switch is the problem?? I have never been a fixit guy but am willing to try

The lid switch assembly prevents the washer from spinning when the lid is open. If the lid switch assembly fails, the washer will not spin. To determine if the lid switch assembly is defective, use a multimeter to test the lid switch for continuity. If the lid switch does not have continuity, replace it.

Not sure how to check for continuity. Seems to me if washer works when switch is bypassed it would have to be the switch

continuity means that electricity will flow though it. The most commonly used tool to measure that is a multimeter

Digital Multimeter
