Random black screen after replacement.

I bought replacement screen from ifixit and just finished replacing it. Black screen randomly appears when I press the power button. The backlight still turns on and there is no other problems.

I reconnect the ribbon cables several times but the problem keeps appearing. Is it a screen problem or a replacement mistake? Which of the three ribbon cables is display cable?

Chosen Solution

Long vertical = digitizer

Short horizontal = LCD

Short vertical = front camera

Restart the phone or unplug the battery and plug it back in to try the replacement screen or after any changes…

Try the old screen to rule out a problem with the part.

You may have a screen that will work on an iPhone 5s not on the SE some 5s screens work on the se some dont...

Yeah, some aftermarket 5S screens do not work on the SE. Original 5S / SE or aftermarket SE screens will work fine on the SE however.
