Revamped version of the iPhone 3G with faster processing speeds. Repair of this device is similar to the 3G, and requires simple screwdrivers and prying tools. Model A1303 / 8, 16 or 32 GB capacity / black or white plastic back.

Home Button Very Weird Problem :@

Hi, I have restored my iPhone 3Gs using DFU mode and the home button is working fine (also done a soft reset and the button works fine), but now when I use the phone properly in the iOS the home button does not work at all, so the home button only works when doing restores in DFU and soft resets, rather strange.

When doing restarts or putting the phone in DFU I never had the two prongs connected to the charge dock, is there a different circuit for restarts and DFU modes?

any ideas what it could be?

Thanks Chris

Turn iPhone off, and carefully reseat Flex Cable #4 (the Dock Connector Flex Cable). Probably the right most Flex pins are not seated all the way down to make contact with the Logic Board Connector. Seat it down all the way.

Thanks for the help, still no success, I tried removing cable 4 from the logic/b, and then soft resetting to see if the home button still worked and it did, do you know are there two different connections to the logic/b one for system (soft reset/DFU and one for phone function

Thanks Chris
