Keyboard Backlight ribbon connector

Dog knocked over beverage and liquid got in my MacBook. I disconnected the battery and removed the logic board to clean with alcohol. Got over zealous on the little ribbon connector for the keyboard backlight and broke said connector. Found and purchased connector and it’s on the way. However, I can not find any tutorials on replacing broken connector. One site said it’s solderless replacement while another said it needed soldering. Can anyone assist me with the procedure to replacing this? It looks as though the connector may just slip on and lock into place.

The backlight zif connector needs to be soldered back in place indeed, It’s got 6 solder joints, 4 at one end for power lines plus other 2 on the other end to give anchorage to the board. You would need a soldering iron with a very fine tip ( I’d use 0,5/0,7mm size) to get the job done. It won’t be terribly easy as one of the pads got ripped for the most part and it’s quite easy to create solder bridges in such a small scale if inexperienced.
