Early 2009 Display Assembly on Mid 2009 system

Hi,

I was wondering if the display assembly from a late 2008 to early 2009 would fit on my Mid 2009 MacBook Pro 15” 5.4.

The connectors seem to be identical.

Thanks for your help :-)

Are you up to replacing the LCD panel alone? Or do you need to replace the full display assembly (case damage).

I was planning to replace the full assembly. I don't have the tools to remove the glass, so buying a used assembly is the cheaper choice.

Then you'll need the correct assembly part as there is enough differences in the part to prevent the substitution of the full assembly.

Arne Büsing  without knowing the actual panel number and only going by the information you gave us it looks like it is compatible with the following:

MacBook Pro 15.4" 2.0GHz Core i7 (A1286) - Early 2011

MacBook Pro 15.4" 2.2GHz Core i7 (A1286) - Late 2011

MacBook Pro 15.4" 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo (A1286) - Late 2008

MacBook Pro 15.4" 2.4GHz Core i5 (A1286) - Early 2010

MacBook Pro 15.4" 2.53GHz Core 2 Duo (A1286) - Mid 2009

Your panel should be one of these models

LP154WP3, LP154WP4, LP154WE3-TLA1 or LP154WE3-TLB1 if so, it’ll fit.
