itunes restore issues for iPhone 3GS

I have a iphone 3gs, version 4.1(8B117) modem firmware: 06:15:00. This iphone has been restored from unlocked and jailbroken version 4.2.1 and same modem Firmware as now. Currently, everything working fine When I connect to latest version of iTunes, it asks me restore from backup of my iphone name XXX. It is ok to click "continue" button? Thanks.

I would say "No". First set up the iPhone as New. When that is done, manually go to the left colunm and click, to get the menu and then "Restore from Backup".

This for some reason by passes some problems. Again set up as New, then you can Restore from Backup manually.

Thanks for your help. I wana to double confirm what I said earlier.

When I connect to itunes, I see the "set up your iphone" screen and I see the following:

this computer has previously been synced with an iphone or another iOS device

o setup as a new device

o restore from the backup of XXX - default

my phone number

Last synced: June 16, 2011, 10:41pm

So it's ok to choose "setup as a new device" right?

Yes, it is always best to "set up as a new divice". When that is done then manually go to the left column of iTunes where the iPhone name is and click, to then manually "Restore from Backup" to get your contacts and such back.
