Can I mount a Samsung 970 EVO PLUS?

Hello, I have a Samsung 970 EVO PLUS m2 drive and I’d lik to know if a compatible adapter exists for my Mac! I already tried this but i can’t connect the ssd to it

Sadly on this specific model there are no good solutions as all the Toshiba SSDs go bad on the mid 2012 airs.

I would install either the OWC or Transcend SSD instead.

Your MacBook Air uses a custom Apple connector system. M.2 SSD’s won’t fit directly and I don’t recommend using M.2 adapters as I’ve had to replace quite a few setups with the correct SSD as the M.2 SSD tend to burn out from the heavy CRC errors they encounter in this config. Yes, they look like they work but over time they fail!

You also have a second issue here which is what the system can support for a SSD. There are three different interfaces

So the Samsung970 EVO Plus is just not compatible!

I would go with either OWC or Transcend SSD's or stick with a larger Apple SSD BeetsTech
