iPhone 5 wont start - speaker enclosure damaged
i replaced the screen on an iphone 5 and afterwards the phone will not start. i have already inspected all the connectors with a magnifying glass, could not find any damage and made sure they were put back in place (even cleaned them with an aero duster in case some dirt was in the way). after googling the problem i found out i could also disconnect and reconnect the battery, which i did. the phone is still dead. the last time i opened the phone i noticed that the enclosure covering the speaker in the lower right corner was damaged - the strip has been ripped apart. this most likely happened when i removed the original display, which was badly damaged. could this be the reason the phone will not start? would it be worth it to buy a defective iphone 5 and taking this part out to replace the broken enclosure? or is it more likely something happened to the connector cables or the logic board?
this is the part that has been ripped:
Is this a good question?
