Scroll wheel ratchet / fast-mode switching failed after one day of use
Appears to be chronic in similar Logitech models. Some little motor-actuator moves out of alignment, and boom! Stuck in “fast scroll” mode.
Going for a replacement, but this is bloody ridiculous.
