Replacing Mac Pro 2006 backplane with a 2007 backplane

Hi guys,

I have a first-generation 2006 Mac Pro 1.1 with a bad backplane, and wonder, if i can use a 2.1 2007 backplane on it.

Indeed, i found a very good price for a 2.1 backplane, around 25 bucks. So, if it's doable, i'll be very happy.

Thank you

Hi @mayer

How are you?

My other Mac Pro 4.1 had a backplane issue, then, after replacing the bad backplane, came up a Dual CPU Tray SMC problem with a fans noise @ full speed spinning hhhh, finally replaced.

Now that i have this spare Mac Pro 1.1, i just want it to come alive.

So, the 1.1 & 2.1 backplanes are identical, and can easily screw up the 2.1 into 1.1 tower, and it should be ready to go alive?

Thank you Dear!
