Can keycaps from the 2016 or 2017 MacBook Pros be used on the 2018?

My spacebar has broken on my 2018 MacBook Pro 15” with Touchbar and I was wondering if I can replace it with a keycap from a 2016 or 2017 15” Touchbar model? I was under the impression that other than the silicone membrane on the 2018 that the caps are identical, but I have no way to verify this.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Sorry the keys are very different between the 2016/17 models and the newer 2018.

But here’s a lifeline! Apple acknowledged they have issues with the keyboards. While Apple so far has not addressed the 2018 models I’m sure you can press them to fix it under extended warranty via an Apple service center Vs an Apple Store.
