home button sometimes works

So I have looked for articles on this but I can’t seem to find a similar case. So I just replaced my wife’s iPhone 7 plus screen and it was perfectly easy to do and the screen quality is great! This morning my wife said that every once in a while her home button wouldn’t respond but then it would. I grabbed her phone and confirmed, almost every hundred or so clicks, it stops but then immediately starts..any help?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

There is a very fragile ribbon cable that attaches to the home button from the body of the phone. This cable may have been damaged during the screen replacement that you had performed, and the way to fix this is to open the phone and check and see if the home button cable is plugged in all the way. If it is, then the cable itself may be damaged and you may need a new home button. Note that replacement home buttons do not work with touch ID since it has to be the original home button for it to work. Hopefully this helps.
