Screen uneven after repair?

Yesterday I replaced the battery of my iPhone 5, and while the phone functions normally, there's a slight hiccup-- the top left corner of the phone is raised a bit higher than the other corners. I pried open the phone again to confirm the new battery wasn’t tilted or lopsided, but that one corner still can’t seem to settle like the others. What do you think the cause could be? Thanks!

Can you add pictures? Is it like a big gap or just a slight difference in height? It doesn't really make sense for a top corner to be raised on an iPhone display design, it could be a flaw in whatever screen you purchased.

Pics added! It's most pronounced when viewed from the left side. Thanks

Is this the original screen? What was the issue with the old battery, did you replace it because it was bulging?

by

It's the original with a screen protector on top of it-- I replaced the battery because it started depleting too quickly. Not sure if the original bulged at all. Thanks

It’s kind of annoying, but it can happen, especially if your screen or metal casing is deformed in any way. If your original battery bulged and screwed up the display even slightly that’d cause it. The only fix is probably going to be a replacement display, but it’s purely a cosmetic issue and shouldn’t affect anything. I’d probably just throw it in a nice case that wraps around the edges.

Gotcha, thanks. Is there a risk of the screen cracking over time if I don't fix the bend?

by

Honestly it doesn't look like a huge bend, it shouldn't cause any issues like that.

The glue that goes between the glass and the plastic screen frame has separated at the top left section. To fix that it would require either adding in some B7000 liquid glue to that corner, then use tape / pressure while the glue is setting / dry up (takes about 6 hours - 12 hours for full hardening).

Otherwise replacing the screen would fix this problem too.

Thanks Ben. Judging from the pics I added, would you still recommend adding glue between the glass and screen frame?

That actually looks fine in the pictures, it's really hard to notice.
