Will replacing my Keyboard fix my problem?

I have a MBP 15 inch A1150 and there are some keys that do not work on the keyboard, such as brighteness up and down on keys F1 and F2 and the keys F9 and F10 do not light up the keyboard when in low light conditions. I checked system prefs under keyboard and everything there is checked that I think needs checked. Will me replacing the keyboard fix this problem? Or is there another area that will be affecting these peculiar keys?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hook up an external keyboard and see if the problem persists. If it's gone. then a keyboard replacement is in order.

I did that. It works as far as brightness on the screen, So i installed a new Keyboard tonight. That did fix part of the problem where the brightness control was not working. That is fixed. Now my problem is the ALS system where in low light F8 allows me to turn on the ALS system and control it with keys F9/F10 but it shows the marks going up or down when pressing the F9/F10 keys but no illumination under the keys so I am wondering if my ALS sensor is defective or blocked somehow? Any ideas? Is this common? Can it be ordered and replaced as well?
