Equipped with Overcharging Protection?

Is Bose SoundLink Mini 1 BLuetooth Speaker (1st Gen) were already equipped with battery overcharging protection like of those recent Bose SoundLink models?

Hi jmgtria,

The first generation Soundlink Minis should have standard overcharging protection. It is built such that you can use it to play music while it is charging on the base.

That said, electronics do degrade over time; there is a chance that the overcharge circuitry loses accuracy and still damages batteries.

Overcharging protection is required with all lithium batteries. Even old ipods had overcharge protection even though the software didn’t recognise it.
