Replacement battery keeps not being recognized

I ordered and installed a replacement battery from iFixit and it seemed to be working fine for a while, however after running for a while the battery will not be recognized. When this happens, if I shut down and reset the SMC it will work again for a while but will later do the same thing resulting in needing another SMC reset.

I’ve also reset the PRAM along with updating to the latest SMC firmware for my Mac model all to no avail. I’ve inspected the battery connections many times and it appears to be plugged in just fine. I figured it’s not due to a faulty connection since a SMC reset kicks it back into gear, but this issue is really messing with my workflow.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

EDIT: I’ve also downloaded and ran CoconutBattery. After a fresh SMC reset, coconut says that the battery is in good condition and has no issues.

EDIT 2: Here is a screenshot of CoconutBattery with the SMC freshly reset (battery working)

For what it’s worth, I’m having the exact issue, and I’m on my second iFixit battery. The first one had this issue, so I tried unplugging and replugging in the battery connector and resetting SMC and PRAM all multiple times to no avail. I contacted customer service, and they were kind enough to send out another battery, but unfortunately, this one is having the same issue even with the troubleshooting described above. I can’t imagine a third will behave any differently. My Apple battery does not have the same issue, so I believe the problem has to be confined to these replacement batteries.

Hey,

I have exactly the same problem as explained above.

Here are my screenshots of coconutBattery (before and after the battery is no longer recognized), do you think I should also contact the support?

I’m having the same issue. Serial no is the same as cknazze. This is a coconut battery screenshot of when the MBP recognizes the battery. Can you see any obvious problems?

I’ll post another screenshot from coconut when it stops recognizing the battery again.
